"Take Shelter" - Simply watching this trailer gives me chills. It’s about a guy who fears environmental collapse. Director is an Austinite.
"Tabloid" - I’ll watch anything by Errol Morris (director of "The Fog of War"). It’s about a beauty queen who may or may not have kidnapped and and raped her Mormon husband.
"Martha Marcy May Marlene" - John Hawkes (another Austinite) plays a creepy cult leader. Yes, please!
"The Artist" - A French director’s ode to Old Hollywood
"Meek’s Cutoff" - This "profound whisper of a film" is about the early days of the pioneer age. I just love stuff about people on the "untamed" American frontier.
"Melancholia" - Lars von Trier’s apparent magnum opus. No, I haven’t seen it yet. I canceled Netflix like any sane, self-respecting person would do. But now I don’t know what to do. Maybe I’ll have to swallow my pride and sign up again if I really want to watch any of these movies. How else would I do it?
